@@benrohrscheib1013 you are most welcome! With regard to your question - .308 performance will be a much better predictor of .300WM performance than would be subsonic 300BLK. This is because subsonic 300 BLK is such low pressure and duration. The .308 performance won't scale exactly to .300WM, but, again, it is a better predictor. Hope this helps! Also, high flow is only necessary if semiauto use is a consideration.

@@TheJaySituation being that 7.62x39 and .300blk are so similar I thought it stood to reason they'd produce similar results. Suppositions aside, I've enjoyed the 762mini's supersonic .300blk performance on my 9" BCM.

Great question! All flash is ammunition related. The key here is that the same ammunition is being used to test multiple silencers, and the comparisons are being drawing from that (eliminating ammunition as a variable - it is held constant). So yes, it could be that with your ammunition type, all silencer are suppressing flash "better," but that wouldn't negate the difference in one silencer from another with another ammo type. Yes sir, most folks have only one device - and hopefully this type of research can help folks understand potential differences! Thanks for the comment - you bring up great points!

@@XCaPTainClipzX hi sir! We can't recommend silencers, but, we can certainly help you with performance questions. Assuming that is a semi-auto platform, the Hyperion would most likely give you the best all around performance. However, there exist other purpose-built 7.62x39 systems like the CAT ODB, for example, that have lower back pressure and are still very quiet.... It really depends on the system!

I guess the PRT program ( and probably the RC3 ) are designed to minimize FRP and be best in class in signature reduction so a comparison of the CRS, RC3 and others under full auto using the FRP and signature reduction scale as the metric.

@@juanthelawnmowerthief1641 yes sir! We have used that gas block extensively. We find it leaks in restricted mode. Have you found that as well?

I mainly run them in the bleed off setting while shooting suppressed so I can’t speak to leaking in the restricted mode. I also only run the set screw versions but depending on the source of the leaking your are experiencing that version might work better or I’ve heard of people using high temp thread locker on the inner diameter to seal against the barrel better but not specifically with SA blocks. I can say that their piston in bleed off works very well on my crane spec 10.3 556 using my hub converted M4-2000, no gas to the face.

Also check out the adjustable gas blocks from Aero, haven’t seen mine leak yet and plenty of fine adjustments if you aren’t wanting the bleed off function of the Superlative Arms blocks.

@@BigNorm4Life they can certainly be highly reliable. I think it really depends on the system. Often times they are louder, but, certain characteristics of the systems can allow them to operate for very extreme firing schedules.

So much of the gas comes back down the bore. There's really not a problem with AR15 reliability with today's magazines, parts and build quality and the wide availability of quality ammunition. You do you, but don't feel like you have to have a piston gun with a can.

@@quiettime6871 correct. The firing schedules where differences in reliability are noticed are very extreme, in most cases.
